A Unique Realm in Each Painting!

"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
"
~ William Blake

It was not merely a Romanticist expression, nor was that a beautiful image of the mind. The boundary between a grain of sand and a planet, a flower and a heaven, or an instance and eternity, is ambiguous for one who initially reaches deep into the essence of existence. In the eyes of one who is at the height of spiritual consciousness, what seems to be common and ordinary to the mind could turn out to be a glorious and sacred dance choreographed by the Creator.

That is why Supreme Master Ching Hai’s paintings always bring great surprise and wonder to the viewers. Whether she is painting a cluster of grass, a bunch of little flowers, a few fruits or gourds, or a vast landscape, the energy abundantly vivid in all matters of creation is always discernible. Moreover, this energy seems to be able to awaken the inexplicable bliss dormant in each viewer.

After appreciating some of her paintings, people are apt to classify her as a certain school or type, yet her next painting would topple their theory completely. Her painting style is sometimes innocent and casual, yet sometimes mature and discordant. Her brush strokes can be bold or simple, often delicate and detailed. Her use of color can be rich and gaudy, or light and elegant. Her means of expression are sometimes determined, vigorous and high-spirited, yet, at times, she explores a specific psychological trait in people’s hearts.

Her painting style is rich and diverse. In one painting she could use styles from different schools, which often bewilders the art critics.

Supreme Master Ching Hai had not received any formal academic training in art, yet she is able to perceive and reproduce the wonders of nature through her sublime consciousness.

Each of her paintings is unique and depicts a different realm! Through careful appreciation, each painting may awaken the forgotten blessings of life in you.
